Day In The Life

Interested in working at Lochearn? CLICK HERE

Being on staff at Lochearn is more than just a job. You are part of a family that works together and lives together. Friends will be made that last a lifetime. Your day starts before reveille, when you're up checking on your cabin. Flag raising, breakfast, then cabin cleanup. Then you're either running your cabin group through activity periods or teaching your specialty, land sports, waterfront, riding, arts or adventure, in beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. Mix in some rest time, rinse, repeat!

After dinner comes the evening program, then a Friendship Circle and lights out on a staggered schedule by age group, Juniors first, CTs last. You're on duty most nights, but you'll have off-duty evenings and rest hours to recharge.

We want you to be happy and enthusiastic about your work and recognize that time off for a little rest and recreation helps maintain that spirit. Many camp facilities are open to off-duty staff. You can enjoy tennis, basketball, swimming, paddleboarding and many other activities or simply relax in Thistle, staff lounge, to catch up on email, phone calls, social media or even take a nap.
